Whatta great game tonight! To tell you the truth I was looking forward to seeing Bruce Bochy again and was hoping we wouldn’t beat his Rangers too bad. No worries. We lost the first 2 of the 3 game series.
Rather a ho-hum game until the 8th, when Luis Matos made an amazing catch in center field. Here’s how the Texans reported that catch:
“Even tho it was a great play he had to make up for the bad read, and then he had to reach up with some athleticism to make up for the bad footwork and the stumble, so even tho it was a really nice recovery, it was an ugly way to get there.”

Seriously??? Let’s consider that a “Texas type compliment” and leave it at that. No, to be honest, at this point I didn’t give a hoot how bad we beat those Texans. Sorry Boche, but those announcers don’t deserve a win. I mean where’s the respect for the game? So by this time, I’m praying for a real blow-out!!
The bottom of the 9th inning the game is tied 1-1 (kind of boring I know, but Baseball’s like that sometimes and I’m still ticked off at their announcers). The game goes to extra innings and in the 10th inning the Rangers crank out another run. So now it’s 2-1 with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, and one on base, when our rookie catcher Patrick Bailey whacks a doozer out of the park and ends the game with a Giants win 3-2!
I wonder how those illustrious broadcasters or whatever they’re called, announced that ending. Can you imagine our dear Krup & Kuip saying something like that about an opponent? I mean, “ugly way to get there”? Sweet revenge I say. Respectfully of course.

Tonight the St. Louis Cardinals took it to the Texas Rangers in good old-fashioned Missouri “show me” style as the Cardinals won in 11 innings by a score of 10-9. And “show me” they did.
The Texas Rangers are flying high all the way back to Missouri, and without an airplane, so I’m told. They beat the Cardinals 4-2 and are one game away from winning it all!

to overcome a whole lot of things to advance to the 2011 World Series against the Texas Rangers. One of the chants tonight was “11 in 11” which I was told means the Cards are going after their 11th world series win in 2011. This is the Cards 18th National League Pennant and Manager Tony LaRussa’s 6th trip to the World Series. The World Series begins Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Busch Stadium, St. Louis Missouri.
At one point tonight before the game even ended one of the commentators made a comment that the Texas Rangers are a better team. Now this is before the game
